Der ma\u00dfgeblich von den USA ausgerufene \u201eWar on Drugs\u201c wird immer mehr hinterfragt. In den Bundesstaaten Colorado und Washington darf Cannabis legal verkauft werden, Chile verteilt kostenlos Marihuana an PatientInnen. Eine Gruppe von Ex-Staatschefs um den fr\u00fcheren UN-Generalsekret\u00e4r Kofi Annan fordert weltweit eine Liberalisierung der Drogenpolitik: Im Kampf gegen Rauschmittel m\u00fcsse die Gesundheit, nicht die Strafverfolgung im Vordergrund stehen. Deutschlands Drogenpolitik beruft sich seit Jahrzehnten darauf, dass Rauschmittel wie Cannabis, Heroin und Kokain verfolgt und verboten bleiben m\u00fcssen, weil sie gef\u00e4hrlich sind. Selbst der Besitz von Cannabis f\u00fcr medizinische Zwecke ist in Deutschland illegal. Alkohol und Tabak werden dagegen gesellschaftlich akzeptiert und sind problemlos legal erh\u00e4ltlich.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>StrafrechtlerInnen und ForscherInnen sind sich einig: Drogenverbote haben kaum positive Wirkung. Dennoch sind die gesundheitlichen Folgen regelm\u00e4\u00dfigen Drogenkonsums nicht von der Hand zu weisen. Der Gesundheitsschutz muss das Ziel einer vern\u00fcnftigen Drogenpolitik sein.
